  • Community edition uploading question

    Hi There,

    I am new to eFront and I have the Community edition installed (for now). I create my content in Articulate Presenter and then use the publish and create zip file options to create the zip file I thought I needed to upload my content. How do you upload those zip files in the Community edition without access to the Smart Content upload? Is it possible or do I need to upgrade?

    Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated!

    The language on course/lesson will be later used to filter the course catalog depending on the user's language. It is possible to use the language of the lesson to modify the UI of eFront but I have not seen this happening anywhere else (and perhaps there is a good reason for it). Still, this would not be so difficult...

    As I'm facing this issue myself, there are a couple of downsides to the solution you propose:

    2) You can not share questions across lessons. If you wish to have lesson specific practice questions and a "course level" review across all lessons, you have to duplicate your questions into the dummy lesson.

    I find it very confusing how to get the enclosed translations to work :oops:

    Why must the server locale be added inside the lang file?

    For testing i, simply deleted the english language file and renamed the Norwegian file to lang-english-php.inc. Now my eFront speaks Norwegian...

    Hello,
    I would propose the following solution:
    1. Create a new sub-user type based on "admin" with limited access to only creating lessons/courses
    2. Create a new user account and assign it this user type
    3. Map the professor account to this new user account, to easily switch between admin/professor interfaces

  • Rights on reporting for a specific group of users

    Can this be done in the Education version too or just Enterprise. I have Education and would like to set a admin to only have rights over one user group and another admin to have rights over another. Can I do this in the Education version?

    Hi, I am an english teacher and I am new on efront so I need some help. I don`t understand website coding but I want to build a website for my students using efront community edition. I successfully set up the website but now I need a forum plugin(phpbb or something else) or integration to my efront. I don`t mean official efront plugin which enables forum for each course separately... I mean a forum which has a button next to start page button on home page and directing to forum but this forum should be integrated to efront, that is, it must use the same login information (username and pass) I think this is called dual login.
    Is there anyone to help this beginner teacher? ;)

    If you log in as a user that has the "english" set as language, does it load?
    Can you check if you get any javascript errors?

    probably it is, this feature has not undergone testing yet and is still under construction. Nevertheless, your remarks are always more than welcome (we can certainly use a bit of help in the testing area :))

    Hi,

    I just intall BBB on my computer and it works great.
    After installation, in the GENERAL SETTINGS of the CONTROL CENTER of Efront, i choose my timezone (GMT - 04:00 - Atlantic Time Canada). I'm living in Montreal so i think i choose the good timezone.

    However, when i set a conference using BBB as a teacher the conference dont' start (Conference status - not started). It looks to be a problem with the timezone setting because the conference status never change to started.

    If anybody have a solution ...

    If I then visit eFront i don't appear to be logged in. Is there a cookie or similar that also needs to be set?

    Ah, the API isn't for login despite the misleading stuff at the top where you mention using it for single login.

    You apparently just need to set cookies to login, eg:

    There is the "complete test" module which in its latest version (not published yet) allows for importing test results from a csv file. The results however must correspond to an actual test available inside the lesson.
    I attach a working version of the module (use at your own risk) if you want to try it

    Saw mention of a new open source project for Wordpress called "Anthologize". It allows you to craft your content within Wordpress and then export to a PDF, ePUB or TEI formatted file.

    We've discussed the notion before, but wanted to bring it up again since now there is another existing open source project we can look at for inspiration :-)

    I explain:
    when an answer is partially correct, the platform still give points but I don't want.
    Is-it possible with eFront to do this:
    - A true response = 1 point,
    - An incorrect response = 0 point,
    - A partial response = 0 point.

    well, the short answer is "no" to all of these issues. Nevertheless, they are very reasonable remarks and I suggest that you can post them to the extension brainstorming that is underway for the next version of efront

    @kdenn: what version of eFront are you using? Logged on as admin you go to system settings, click on the "External Tools" tab and set Zip handling method to System and see if that sorts it out for you.

    You can also, again logged on as admin, go to Maintenance and click on the PHP Info tab.. look for "Zip version" and see what it reports.



  • Language Errors - Spanish

    This is another one:

    When you create or edit a Test, on the advaced configurations is this option:

    Litterally in english it means: "Student of the force answer all the cuestions", but if I'm not mistaken the traduction in spanish should be "El estudiante debe obligatoriamente contestar todas las preguntas" (that means -> the student must necessarily answer all questions). But it's only a sugesstion
